Shipping and Customs in Europe: What to Expect

Dispatch point decides almost everything about the delivery experience. Here is how European distribution actually works.

Protective shipping packaging prepared for European distribution

Two orders for the same product can behave completely differently depending on where they ship from. Intra-EU movement is straightforward; anything crossing the external border enters a customs process.

Intra-EU dispatch

Goods moving between member states circulate freely, so transit is a logistics question rather than a customs one. Orders from Synedica Europe are dispatched from within Europe with tracking from the moment the label is created.

Protective, not refrigerated

Lyophilised material is shipped in protective, tamper-evident packaging rather than a cold box. The dry state is stable in transit; the real risks are crushing, light and tampering, which is what the packaging is designed against. Move the product into its labelled storage condition when it arrives.

Tracking checkpoints

  • Order confirmed — payment authorised.
  • Dispatched — label created and parcel handed to the carrier.
  • In transit — carrier scans en route.
  • Out for delivery, then delivered with proof of delivery.

When something goes wrong

Contact support with the order number and photographs of the outer packaging before opening further if a parcel arrives damaged or with a compromised seal. Photographs taken at the doorstep are worth far more than a description written later.

Delivery windows

Published transit estimates are working days after dispatch, not after order placement. Orders placed at the weekend are picked on the next working day. Current timings for each destination group are listed on our shipping page.

Frequently asked questions

Do orders ship refrigerated?

No. Lyophilised material is shipped in protective packaging; refrigeration is a storage requirement on arrival, not a transit one.

Will I pay customs charges?

Not for intra-EU deliveries. Destinations outside the EU customs territory may attract local duties and taxes.

Can I change my address after dispatch?

Once a parcel is with the carrier, changes depend on the carrier's own service. Contact support immediately.
